Sakura Kiss Sour

A beautifully balanced cocktail that captures the essence of spring, combining sakura (cherry blossom) with shochu and a subtle touch of strawberry. Lightly floral with a gentle tartness, this refreshing sour is finished with a hint of lemon and a Sakura flakes for an elegant, seasonal flourish.

Ingredients:

  • 1 egg white

  • 0.5-1 tsp sakura extract (depends how floral you like it)

  • 2 oz shochu (or 1.5 oz shochu & 0.5 oz vodka) - I used iichiko shochu

  • 1/4-1/2 tsp strawberry syrup (recipe is here)

  • 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice

  • Optional: cherry blossom flakes for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a shaker, combine egg white, sakura concentrate, shochu (or shochu and vodka), syrup and lemon juice.

  2. Shake without ice (dry shake).

  3. Then put in an ice cube and shake for a few seconds.

  4. Double strain into a cocktail glass.

  5. Optional: garnish with cherry blossom flakes.
