Whitelock's Ale House
If you happen to visit Leeds or find yourself passing through the city, I highly recommend stopping by Whitelock's Ale House, which is the oldest pub in Leeds. This charming establishment was first founded in 1715 under the name The Turk's Head before being taken over by the Whitelock family in the 1880s. It's a wonderful place to enjoy a drink while soaking up a bit of history.
I was in Leeds as a study abroad student in 2017, and I honestly didn’t know about this place until we happened to stroll by the area and noticed a large crowd of people gathering. We soon figured out it was a Beer Festival. I really wish I had taken more pictures to capture the moment. It was tucked away in this slightly hidden alley or quaint entrance in the city center
This Victorian pub is such a hidden gem and I highly recommend.
